The Scoop

GoPro has just launched their smallest cameras yet. The new Hero3+ cameras are 20 percent smaller and lighter than before. The camera’s battery life is also 30 percent better than previous models. The Hero3+ also features a sharper lens and new video capture modes.

The new Hero3+ is available in a black edition, with a new housing that makes it 20 percent smaller and lighter. The battery life is extended, and transfer and playback of photos and video via WiFi are four times faster. SuperView is a new video mode, provides a wider angle and Auto Low Light mode adjusts frame rate for varying light conditions.

Meanwhile, its new Hero3+ silver edition has a faster image processor, a new housing that’s 15 percent smaller and lighter, and features faster transfer of photos and videos—up to four times faster, GoPro claims. The camera enables 1080p60 and 720p120 fps video. It has a suggested retail of $299.99.

New mounts for both cameras include the Jaws: Flex Clamp, Junior Chesty (chest harness) for kids ages 3 and older, and the Headstrap + QuickClip that allows mounting on baseball hats, belts and other objects.

GoPro also unveiled new updates to its editing software, Studio 2.0, making it easier for users to edit and share videos with pre-made, customizable templates.
